Ma Gurupriya is a sannyasin (renunciate) disciple of the renowned Saint Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha ji Maharaj – the guiding force of Narayanashrama Tapovanam, Kerala; the Centres for Inner Resources Development, in India and abroad; and the Foundation for Restoration of National Values, New Delhi.
Born in a family of academic excellence in West Bengal, Ma’s spiritual journey began during her student days while pursuing PhD (Physics) in Delhi University when her life was engulfed by an intense wave of yearning for something Eternal. Ma pursued the spiritual path while continuing with her education and after completing her Doctorate, taught Physics in Vivekananda College, Kolkata till 1984.
In 1984, Ma renounced her professional life as a lecturer in Physics (in Kolkata University) and in 1987 renouncing the world, joined Narayanashrama Tapovanam to dedicate herself wholesomely to the service of Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha ji in all aspects of his mission.
