Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha skillfully dissects the parallel worlds of dream and wakefulness to get to the Source of it all. Swamiji explains why the two are used by our scriptures to present the Truth, and gives a glimpse of the elevated state of being that follows proper comprehension.

Wakefulness and dream are twin experiences of every individual. From our standard perception we understand wakefulness to have a constancy about it, with a common validity and the link of causality. Dream on the other hand is strikingly inconsistent, is very much a personal affair and simply appears. We all know dream world to be unreal, but believe the wakeful world to be real. Herein lies the supremacy of the scriptures in highlighting our foolishness. The bottom line is both are written in Consciousness, our true identity which is the only reality. When, with the compassionate guidance of our Spiritual Masters, we understand this Truth, we will reach the abode of fearlessness and be forever free of grief.
