Owning the opposition
Swamiji received the opposition with his characteristic fondness. At no time did he feel the least dislike or irritation towards the opponents: “They deserve more love, because they do not know!”

It works unawares
Whenever anybody would come to see Swamiji, he would come out leaving whatever he had been doing, and listen to and talk to the visitor or help-seeker with full interest and concern. All along we have been amazed to find this extremely rare but natural, relaxed behaviour of a Knower, described as “sahaja” in the scriptures.

Remaining afloat over Likes and Dislikes
Through this event I understood the meaning of transcending likes and dislikes. It also taught me the meaning of real love for people. It is not always to speak to them “lovingly”; it is often to sacrifice one’s peace and saintly image for their real welfare.

Sukanya
What a slow and silent death it was! The silence made a deep impression in our minds. She embraced death silently, naturally, without complaints, without desires or expectations, never craving for our attention and at the same time not refusing our concernful attention. On the whole, she was so very graceful while she waited for the end.

Gratitude
“But Prakasan, if you do not take anything for the work you have done, how can we call you again if we need your assistance,” I asked him. He nodded his head and said, “No, I don’t want anything for this work. This I have done for your sake.”
