Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

02 – Key to The Inner Self | Based on Ashtavakra Gita

5 Views | 2 years ago

Swamiji begins the second day by discussing the verse which exhorts one to acquire the qualities of forgiveness, straightforwardness, compassion and contentment. He makes us understand that we have to judge whether we have these qualities and, if so, in what measure.

Swamiji urges the listeners to take up introspection. He says that a true seeker can expand, refine and elevate his personality by introspecting on his own thoughts and feelings, values and truths of life and how his own life can be reformed. By this process of truthful introspection, one’s mind reaps great benefits.

Giving various examples, Swamiji drives home the point that introspection would help to strengthen and equip the mind to face all challenges in life with poise.

Swamiji also deals with the question of how the Truth can be realized. When a seeker investigates and understands his real identity and rests upon the unchanging Witness aspect of his being, he becomes liberated from the afflictions and sufferings of his life.

Verses discussed: (1.4) Ashtavakra Samhita, Ashtavakra Gita
