045 – Sadhana In Guru Sannidhi | Swamini Ma Gurupriya

Why are we not able to progress in our sadhana? Why do we feel a sense of non-fulfillment in life even after many months and years of practice?

Ma says, it is primarily because we lack the intense yearning to remain anchored in God - to the exclusion of everything else. We do not emphasize enough that our primary identity is that of a seeker. The mind generally yearns for many things in this world, even though they cannot give us permanent happiness. So, with each passing day, we must evaluate ourselves - is the attraction for God increasing in our mind or do we feel more attracted to worldly things?

Ma tells us that in Guru Sannidhi - the whole atmosphere is spiritual. So, it will have its sublime influence on our minds and we often feel elevated and enriched by listening to his words. But, it should not end there. Whatever the Guru says, we have to think and ruminate over - again and again and not get distracted from it. That in itself will be a great seva to the Guru.
